We enrolled our son at CBA at the start of grade 2 with no former knowledge of Spanish. My family thought we were nuts... "throwing him in the deep end!" but what we saw when we visited was a place where kids loved learning. Now, our son is half way through the 3rd grade, and he's not just treading water in the deep end, he's doing the backstroke! His test scores across the board are through the roof (including Spanish)! Thank you, CBA for creating an environment where kids love to learn!

My 9th grader has loved CBA from the first tour we took over the summer. When he was given such a warm welcome by the administrators and when he heard the descriptions of the classroom learning environment, we were both hooked. The culture at CBA is so special. The students and teachers have been so welcoming, and the teachers and administrators have truly invested in my child. His teachers care about his academic progress, but they also care about his spiritual, mental, and emotional development. So I feel like they are a partner walking alongside my husband and me to help guide our teenager into adulthood. I have seen my son be motivated to excel—and not just get by with the bare minimum! He’s tackled hard projects and stepped out of his comfort zone because of the encouraging culture at CBA. The teachers and administrators are truly motivating him to be a leader, and I have seen him step up into that role in such a positive way. We are so thankful for CBA!

We absolutely love Charleston Bilingual Academy. From the moment our children walk through the doors each morning, they are deeply loved, known, and valued, and the school truly feels like an extension of our family. They are thoughtfully challenged and inspired to grow academically, while also learning how to think critically, understand the world around them, and become confident, compassionate individuals. The project-based learning approach is exceptional - our kids are fully engaged and excited about learning each day. We are so grateful to be part of a community that pours so much heart into both education and character.

When we were relatively new parents raising Jeremiah, we quickly recognized that he had a gift for language. We decided to look around the Charleston area and see what options there were for a language immersion program. That's when we discovered CBA and we enrolled him when he was just 3.5yrs old. Fast forward to where we are today. Jeremiah is now in the fifth grade and completely fluent in spoken and written Spanish! It has been an amazing experience watching him grow in language and faith in the CBA family over the years. We say family because CBA is so much more than just a school. It's a God-centered community that pours out love and education into our child. The teachers are so dedicated and talented and are genuinely interested in the success and spiritual formation of our child. I have nothing but great experiences and things to say about CBA. We have always said the main thing that anchors us to Charleston is this school. From the moment you enter the school all the way to having a one-on-one conversation with Nate... you can see that this school is within the light of Gods favor. We look forward to enrolling our second child, Emma Grace, next year and are excited to see her grow just like her brother.

CBA has answered prayers we did not know we should have been praying! This school has helped deepen our children’s knowledge of the Bible into a relationship with Jesus. It has fostered their capacities for compassion, diligence, and attentiveness. It has awoken in them wonder at the beauty of creation, and embedded us all in a community more diverse than our neighborhood. Joining our kids as they follow the breadcrumbs of their wonder to Christ—putting their hearts, minds, and hands to work for Him—has been a privilege and exhilarating joy.

One of the reasons we chose CBA was so our kids could not just learn another language but also be able to use it practically in the world. Recently, when our family went to Costa Rica, my wife and I got to see our 8 and 6 year old confidently speak with locals in Spanish throughout our time there and it was truly extraordinary. I’m in awe of how kids can learn another language at such a young age and this experience has reinforced why we chose to have our kids attend CBA.

I love the focus on service and also the efforts to help students understand the reason they are in school. It is not just about grades, but preparing kids to share love and their unique gifts to build beloved community. Love that!

I am always encouraged by the heart of the school to be a positive change in our community and to always love Jesus first and to love others second.
